Deleting Your Data
Two ways to do it, both of which work without asking us first. This page exists so there is a single answer rather than a paragraph buried in a policy.
Northfact holds social media data only because someone connected an account and asked us to analyse it. This page is how you undo that.
Northfact is operated by ARKA ZENITH IT CONSULTANTS - FZCO, registered in the United Arab Emirates, and that is the company a request under this page reaches.
If you connected through Facebook, Instagram or Threads
You can do it from Meta rather than from us:
- Open your Facebook Settings and privacy, then Settings
- Go to Apps and websites
- Find Northfact and choose Remove
- Tick the box offering to delete the data the app holds
Meta then sends us the deletion request directly. We delete what we hold, and Meta shows you a confirmation code and a link back to us. That link resolves to a page naming what was deleted and when, so you get a specific answer rather than a reassurance.
Removing the app without ticking that box revokes our access but does not delete anything, because those are different requests and we do not treat one as the other. If you want the data gone, tick the box or email us.
If you would rather ask us
Write to contact@northfact.com from the address you signed up with, or with enough detail to identify the connected account, and say what you want deleted. We respond within 30 days and usually within two working days.
You do not have to explain why, and asking costs you nothing else: we do not argue, delay, or route you through a retention offer.
What gets deleted
- The access token for the connected account, immediately, so no further data can be collected even before the rest is removed
- The connection between your Northfact login and that social account
- Cached posts, metrics, snapshots and audience samples for that account
- Reports generated from that account, including their exports
- The public profile cache entry for that account’s handle
What does not get deleted, unless you ask
Your Northfact login itself, and the email address attached to it. Deleting a Facebook connection is not a request to close the workspace account you signed up with, and quietly closing it would be its own kind of surprise. Ask and we will delete that too.
If you are on a waitlist and nothing else, there is no connected account to delete. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address rather than flagging it.
If you are an agency, or a client of one
Where an agency connected an account on a client’s behalf, the agency instructs us and we act on that instruction. A client who wants their data removed from a Northfact workspace should ask the agency that holds it; if that is not possible, write to us and we will contact the agency and confirm back to you.
How long it takes
The token and the connection go immediately, in the same request. Cached data and reports go in the same operation, and the confirmation page reflects the finished state rather than a promise about one.
Backups are the one exception. Our database provider retains point-in-time backups for a short window, so deleted rows can persist in a backup that nobody can query for up to 7 days before ageing out. We do not restore backups to recover deleted data.
Checking that it happened
A deletion started from Facebook gives you a confirmation code and a URL. Following it shows what was deleted, the time we received the request, and the reference. If it says something you did not expect, write to contact@northfact.com and quote the reference.
